What we aim for

We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Every page is plain HTML that works without JavaScript except the map, the postcode tools and the account page; text can be resized to 200% without loss; every page has a skip link, one heading structure, visible keyboard focus, and colour is never the only way information is shown (every grade is also written as a word). Animation is switched off for visitors whose device asks for reduced motion.

What we have checked

Automated checks (axe-core) on the school, authority, town and map pages, a contrast review of every coloured label against the AA ratio of 4.5:1, and keyboard-only use of the search, filters, shortlist and account forms.

Known limits

• The interactive map needs a pointer or touch to move and zoom; every school on it also has its own page, reachable from the search box or from the full list by local authority.
• Bar charts of results carry their values as text beside the bar, but the bars themselves are decorative.
• Ofsted reports and council admissions documents we link to are published by those bodies and may not meet the same standard.
